At Cove Behavioral Health we thrive on helping our community and with that, partnered with Hillsborough County Affordable Housing Services, and succeeded in rehabilitation work for 5 duplexes that provide permanent housing for 10 families.
These homes are rented to residents in the Tampa Community, helping to provide a living space for families trying to get back up on their feet. We chose to use our grants on preexisting duplexes that we renovated with extensive interior and exterior improvements, including plumbing and electrical work and cosmetic updates. This plan for renovation and rehabilitation has worked in helping more families with our grants and funds, compared to building entirely new homes. The County helped us furnish nearly $1 million in Community Block Grants to repair, upgrade, and add features to these housing complexes.
This project could not have been possible without the support of the Hillsborough County Affordable Housing Services,
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Hillsborough Board of County Commissioners with the Hillsborough County, Florida Government, and our partnership with Metropolitan Ministries, who assist in placing families needing affordable housing into our duplexes.
